NEUTRAL SPECIES:
WILDEN ELF
Wilden elves are, in a sense the 'lesser' breed of elf. They are looked down on almost as much as demons by their Hipherial cousins for their 'lack of blood'. They are characterized by their tan/olive skin and their hair ranges from blonde, brown to flamboyant orange and red. Their eye-colour is commonly a bright green or yellow. Wilden elves cannot use magic as well as their cousins, resorting more to using weapons and physical combat instead. They are exceptionally good hunters and trackers, working in groups to bring down their target. They are secretive and keep to themselves, shying away from outsiders almost as much as the Snowhelm elves.
DARSERREL ELF
If you thought the Snowhelm and Wilden elves were secretive and strange, the Darserrel are far more so. They excel in the dark arts, poison and seal-breaking - something that the Hipherial Raiiveske elves despise. They are commonly known for their dark skin ranging in various shades of grey; a side-effect of their magical nature. Their eye colour varies from black, silver, purple and red. They are also as agile as their pale-skinned relatives and are a spectacle to watch when in combat as they can use both magic and weaponry.
FAERIE
An uncommon species to be sure. The fae folk are small, nimble and very difficult to find. They are essentially like a miniature elf with insect wings. They are said to be extremely beautiful as well and are gifted with exceptional healing magic.
CENTAUR
A proud warrior race, the centaurs are half-man, half-horse. Their features include a stocky build in males, more lean in mares and their have long horse-like ears. They cannot use magic and resort to armor and weapons. They are exceptional fighters and are very proud and mighty creatures. They are sentient and also have their own laws and culture. Centaurs are also known for only breeding to make a stronger bloodline, which can sometimes make their numbers dwindle as the mares will only mate with the strongest stallions. However, they also may form a bond with someone outside their species and enter into a master-servant relationship.
SKIN CHANGER
To clarify, this is NOT a shifter; human who can turn into a single type of animal. Skin changers constantly have animalistic features if they manage to even revert back into their original form. They are able to change into an array of creatures and this sometimes leads to a form of 'splicing' so to speak which can result in them accidentally trying to shift into more than one thing at once, creating a chimera which cannot change back.
CONTRACTOR DEMON
This is a complicated one to explain. Contractor demons take on whatever appearance appeases the person they enter a contract with. They are only in the contract for one reason, and that is to devour the soul of their master. Some contractor demons who pick a weak master can over-ride the contract and devour them right away however, making them extremely dangerous to those foolish enough to enlist their services. Contractor demons cannot just 'pick' a master - they must be summoned. They are able to essentially live an immortal life, so long as they continue to take the souls of their entitled masters.
FENRIR
Essentially a massive wolf, for fun they can be one to three headed. They are more like mounts or guards and are ridiculously hard to tame because of their brash nature. However, they are eternally loyal to their masters and will sacrifice themselves without thought if need be.
MERMAID/MAN
The mer people of Sonera are a curious folk. Not many have seen them, but many tales have been said about their beautiful singing. In reality, mermaids are beautiful, fish-like women who are also very much so carnivorous. They have gills along their ribs, a dorsal fin on each arm, webbed hands and fin-like ears. They have razor sharp teeth and use their vocal prowess to set the oblivious fishermen into a trance to lure them further out into their territory where they will enter a frenzy and eat them. Mermen take on a more shark-like appearance and are much larger. It is said they can summon krakens to help haul down ships out at sea and share the prey.
NEKO
Nekos are cat people, basically. They DO NOT shift between forms - they do however have cat ears and a tail that doesn't disappear. They are gifted with magical abilities, usually enticing them into trickey and thievery given they are also extremely agile. They can communicate with other species of feline and also like fish. ..A lot.
ARACHNE
Spider people essentially. The body of a spider with a protruding human-torso and head - think centaur but with more legs and a massive carapace. They are known throughout Sonera for their talent in weaving all sorts of things with their silk - a highly sought commodity by some traders. They are dark-skinned and quite large in size compared to your average elf. Males have eight eyes, two large mains and six smaller ones going up the forehead, females only have six.
DULLAHAN
Dullahans are mysterious beings, rare in number but are shyed away from as they are rumored to be the soul collectors of the underworld. They are armored knights in appearance, wielding massive scythes and can also detach their heads. They are often reported to ride through towns looking for their misplaced noggins. They also tend to linger around individuals whose days are numbered.
